What I Did On My Summer Vacation - Part 2

I really meant to post Part 2 by now, but routine life has replaced my carefree days of summer vacation.  I'm back to the daily structure of time clocks and responsibilities.

In an odd way, that daily structure is what makes our
vacation days so precious and meaningful.

OK enough philosophy...
What I Did For My Summer Vacation - Part 2

On Sunday, Rebecca joined Laurie & me for the
Colorado Springs outdoor flea market and lunch
See the sewing artwork on the building in the background?  No one knew what it was about.  You know me and buttons, I am curious what it is.  I hope Laurie can find out.

Sunrise to Sunset we spent a wonderful day together followed by dinner and margaritas at Laurie's home

On Monday, Gal Pal Suzanne drove 3.5 hours to join us antiquing and to spend the night

Don't you think Laurie should have bought that hat -
she looks great in it!

I'm just saying it might be a wee bit small for me

Sneaking this photo in from an different day, but I had to show this darling slip... it was too small for me too :-(

Another wonderful day with

Kindred Friendships!

Tuesday was Summer Song!
An incredible day with six amazing women, laughing, sharing life, enjoying good food & wine and creating art together.

GIRLS ROAD TRIP

I was blessed this week to take a GIRLS ROAD TRIP with my dear friends Julie & Cindy

We stayed in an awesome log cabin in the woods at The Big Cedar Lodge.

We were on GIRL TIME - no husbands, cooking, jobs, chores, etc.

We junked/picked at every possible antique store, flea market and garage sale along our route

Poor Cindy... we crammed our treasures around her in the backseat.  I think she only got hit once with sliding debris - OK not hit, but definitely bumped.

We are known as the original CHICKER PICKERS.

My motto is "there is always room for more"

At our last garage sale we had to unpack the car and repack it so we could squeeze in three large wooden flower boxes.  These were a great find as they were cheap! and they make great bases for Autumn & Holiday table centerpieces.

Aah, but that was just the last garage sale.  We hit a handful more antique stores and one flea market and managed to squeeze in even more treasures... just small ones.

We also enjoyed retail shopping, tea room lunches and the gorgeous Autumn trees of southern Missouri

There was a beautiful waterfall at Big Cedar Lodge

This was our last morning and we stopped by the marina to see the morning fog lifting off the lake.  A man fishing in his boat in the midst of the fog offered this great photo

Remembering England & France 2010 - Day Three

Day Three.... Day Four
(Actually this is Day Four - I forgot to count our travel day as Day One)

We met Matthew and spent a wonderful day at the

 Tara, Matthew & Tami

This flea market is huge.  Matthew knew the areas where the button/textile dealers were, so we were able to focus our time and energy on them.

Eye candy!!

(I will post photos of my buckle & button goodies later)

Day Five we go on a dig!  Come follow us tomorrow.
