Girls Just Wanna Have Fun - Part 2

I only have a PC, no laptop, notebook, smart phone or whatever, so I need to be home and at my PC to share any new post with you.  When it comes to tech stuff, I keep it simple...
hence my delay in recent postings.

I've been away on a wonderful Girls Rule trip.
I will be sharing about it once I get caught up on some other posts.

I had planned on catching up with posting early this weekend; however our eldest son was involved in a major car accident.  Thank our good Lord, he was not severely injured!
His car was totaled.

On with Girls Just Wanna Have Fun - Part 2...

My last post left Laurie, Suzanne & me getting ready to experience shopping at the
Kansas City West Bottoms Vintage Stores.

I really enjoyed the sunlight shinning through this window display

Visiting with friend Carol Spinski (Raised in Cotton) at her Bottoms Up booth

Delighted to get a photo with friend Sarah (My So Called Junky Life)
Sarah is such a sweetie!  I ADORE her blog, her Bottoms Up booth
and her amazing and creative talents!

More of West Bottoms shopping...

I love this sofa!  It was only $115!
I absolutely have no where to put it or it would have come home with me!

 Wow! bright lemony yellow

Amazing old buildings!
The holidays are upon us... smile!

It was October, lots of eerie & odd displays

We ran into fellow Bird Song friends Marj & Gail!

Suzanne & Laurie - we had an amazing day!
Be sure and visit Laurie's post, she has lots of great photos.

The last event of their visit was Karla's Romantic Gothic Ghost.  I'll be sharing more about that soon.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!

The blog 'photo full' flag I received must have been
a fluke as I can now post photos - hopefully it will not return.

Early October, Laurie & Suzanne came to visit me.
Here they are arriving at the airport.

As soon as we left the airport we were determined to
squeeze as much as we could into their four day visit.

Immediately after their arrival, we were off &
shopping at  The Rusty Chandelier

 Our Haunting Welcome

Amazing handmade crowns!

The next morning we spent a couple of hours in my studio
creating Gothic Ghost banners.

I did not finish my banner as I seem to talk too much.

Our next adventure was to shop the Mission Road Antique Mall and eat lunch at the Bloomsbury Bistro located in the mall.

This is my favorite place for lunch!
Their toasted carrot cake is the best ever!

 Shopping at Beth's booth.
Beth always has the coolest treasures at great prices!

We fulfilled Suzanne's dream to shop the brick and mortar store
of Victoria Trading Co.

Later that evening Suzanne surprise us
with darling Ballerina socks and tiaras

It's been a long time since I've done a plie.

Two days down, two days left to share of our amazing visit.
I will soon post about our adventures at the
Kansas City First Weekend West Bottoms vintage stores
(be sure and watch the West Bottoms video on this link!)
and Karla's Romantic Gothic Ghost event.
 till then...

What I Did On My Summer Vacation - Part 1

Hello Friends,

As you know I was away last week on my Girls Rule vacation in Colorado - no alarm clocks, time clocks or responsibilities... just treasure hunting, creating art, good food - wine - margaritas and some of the best GIRLFRIEND time!

My dear friend Laurie picked me up at the Denver airport and
we were off...

We enjoyed a picnic lunch on the Fine Art Plaza outside the
Denver Art Museum

Followed by time at the interactive Fashion Studio

Don't you think we had the most fun there?

Our grand finale at the museum was
Yves Saint Laurent - The Retrospective
Amazing!

Cameras were not allowed nor was touching the fashions even though they were in fingertip reach.

The Retrospective included the classic YSL fashions as well as his runway Art fashions.

This exhibit only appeared in Paris, Milan and Denver -
what an experience!

Later tucked under our umbrellas we enjoyed the
Cherry Creek Art Fair

The next morning we went to the
Paris St. Flea Market

 My new friend Tonto
(I want another Great Dane!)

We shopped till our feet hurt and
survived the heat & humidity!

Traveling on to Littleton for lunch at the french bistro JaJa's

 and more treasure hunting

We welcomed the two hour drive to Laurie's -
sit, relax & be cool.

Laurie's guest room welcomed me with comfy pillows, quilts, creative art journals and books.
I felt so at home and honored to be their guest.

Look at this close up of the fabric lampshade Laurie made
So beautiful!

Ben (Laurie's son) was home from Scout camp to regroup and
return the next day for another week of CIT camp.
It was a pleasure to meet Ben!
He is a respectful, engaging and handsome young man.

I have swooned over Laurie's fabric books.
Here we are as Laurie teaches me my first lesson on fabric books

My fabric book is a work in progress

Well that's enough for tonight.
I'll post more later.

Good Night and Sweet Dreams ~ Tami
