Kansas City's West Bottoms Vintage Shopping

Last Saturday Julie and I spent the day shopping at Kansas City's West Bottom Vintage shops.
On our drive there we hit a fantastic garage sale just a few blocks from my home and managed to fill up the car.
No surprise I fell in love with two chairs soon after arriving at the West Bottoms, but my car was already full.  So, we shopped the north-side shops, went home, had lunch, let Belle enjoy some time outside in the backyard, emptied my car and headed back to pick up those two chairs I fell in love with... I'll post those chairs another day.

Of course we spent the rest of the afternoon shopping the south-side shops.
All the shops were decked out for the upcoming Holidays -maybe not as much as last year, but they definitely had some wonderful displays.

I believe on the 4th floor of Bottoms Up is a booth offering incredible vintage doors

It was a beautiful and fun day with my gal pal Julie!

West Bottoms Shopping Treasures

Here are my beauties that I found on Friday while shopping at the
Kansas City West Bottoms First Weekend sales

This wonderful chippy white wicker tray w/handle was purchased at sweet Sarah's booth My So Called Junky Life, now located inside Restoration Emporium.
The creamy doilies I also purchased from her.

The pink crocheted trim, earrings and pins were purchased at
vendors inside Nook and Cranny.

The adorable stack of vintage Walt Disney playing cards and those AMAZING bobbin-lace (I think) squares in their original packaging were purchased at Urban Mining.  UM is not in the West Bottoms district, but is also a First Weekend store.

Another package of AMAZING trim from Urban Mining.

My favorite find of all is this framed print of Pharaoh's Horses!
I passed up a larger version of this about eight years ago and have been sorry every since.  I found this beauty at Hickory Dickory.

I plan to repaint the wooden frame a creamy color.  It will go better with my style and enhance the trim of the frame.

Enjoy today, Tami

Kansas City's West Bottoms First Weekend Shopping

Kansas City offers a premier vintage shopping district at the
(be sure and view the video in this link)

Yesterday the West Bottoms district was the busiest I have ever seen it.  It was our first beautifully warm Spring day and vintage shoppers were anxiously ready to shop.

I'd estimate 2000, maybe more shoppers. I arrived later than I normally do.  I had to drive around about 30 minutes until I was able to get a parking space.

I did not take my camera, but did take one photo from my cell phone to share
Yes, that is a tour bus!
Apparently the West Bottoms First Weekends shopping has become a 'Must' shopping stop for tourists.

Due to the warehouse shopping environment, one must be able to do extensive walking and lots of stair climbing.

While everyone has their favorite stores and specific vendors, here are some of my favs
and believe me I am adding to my favorites as there are now over 20 shops to visit.

Later I will share photos of my goodies I found yesterday,
so please stop back by to see them.
