Birdsong 2014

I have been fortunate to attend Karla Nathan's Birdsong retreat since it started in 2011.

I am sooooo excited Birdsong 4 begins this Friday!

I joined three swaps - Birdsong banner, altered avian/garden tin and an altered bottle.
Two are partnered swaps, so I will not show those photos until after my partners have
received theirs from me.

The altered bottle swap is not partnered, so I can share my bottle now

front view

The bird print is a thin decoupaged napkin which allows translucent light through.

This old wooden bird was in sorry shape, so I repainted it.
I enjoy using real acorns for bird nests.

While the bottle is nearly covered, the laces are light and airy allowing light to peek
through the clear glass bottle.

I am a lucky...blessed girl to spend the next few days with dearest of friends, new friends,
West Bottoms vintage shopping, create art and relish in the
inspiration of Karla's hospitality and art studio!

I'll have lots of photos to share, so stop back by later next week.

Blessings to you ~ Tami

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!

The blog 'photo full' flag I received must have been
a fluke as I can now post photos - hopefully it will not return.

Early October, Laurie & Suzanne came to visit me.
Here they are arriving at the airport.

As soon as we left the airport we were determined to
squeeze as much as we could into their four day visit.

Immediately after their arrival, we were off &
shopping at  The Rusty Chandelier

Amazing handmade crowns!

The next morning we spent a couple of hours in my studio
creating Gothic Ghost banners.

I did not finish my banner as I seem to talk too much.

Our next adventure was to shop the Mission Road Antique Mall and eat lunch at the Bloomsbury Bistro located in the mall.

This is my favorite place for lunch!
Their toasted carrot cake is the best ever!

 Shopping at Beth's booth.
Beth always has the coolest treasures at great prices!

We fulfilled Suzanne's dream to shop the brick and mortar store
of Victoria Trading Co.

Later that evening Suzanne surprise us
with darling Ballerina socks and tiaras

It's been a long time since I've done a plie.

Two days down, two days left to share of our amazing visit.
I will soon post about our adventures at the
Kansas City First Weekend West Bottoms vintage stores
(be sure and watch the West Bottoms video on this link!)
and Karla's Romantic Gothic Ghost event.
 till then...
Hugs ~ Tami

Faerie Book Swap

A reminder first... my canvas art giveaway ends tomorrow September 25th at midnight.
If you are interested, please click on the giveaway link for details.

Faerie Swap

My bundle of Fairy magic has arrived full
of fairy whispers and fairy grace
Karla from Karla's Cottage hosted this magical swap.

The cover page was a print from of an
original watercolor faerie by Karla.

I believe her swap was almost 100 swappers.
Each swapper received 8 pages plus Karla's pages.

Here are the wonderful front and back pages as well as the yummy flocked back cover page that were in the swap I received

 Magically wonderful aren't they?
