Wishing for Spring

March came with another snow storm and frigid temperatures.
I am so tired of Winter!

I created some Spring vignettes in our home...hoping it might encourage an early arrival of Spring

Belle is nearly 20 months old
This photo looks good in sepia - it shows off Belle's sweet eyes.

This Winter has been so bad, some days Belle does not get her walks or play time outside.
We are hoping Springs arrives here soon!

Ugh, more Winter

Really?  This is late March!

The above photo is not an old TV off the air.
It is our frosted kitchen window this morning.

All week our forecast was a late snow storm starting on Saturday afternoon.  About 3 pm yesterday we commented how calm the skies looked and thought the meteorologist got it wrong.

Jinxed it, 30 minutes later that calm, almost deadening hush sound of falling snow quieted everything.
Hours upon hours of wet snow fell upon us.

Normally our late March temperatures average at 60 degrees, not so much today.  Here is our backyard, once again with snow-flattened Rose of Sharon bushes

A view through the top half of our frosted kitchen window reveals our corner Spirea bush flattened to the ground.

Last night is was the sounds of fire trucks and First Responders down our snow route street.  This morning it was the grating sound of snow plows and Power & Light trucks to the rescue.

We have about 6" of snow with possibly 2" more inches by tomorrow morning.  Not as bad as the last two storms, but then again we should be having this

So wanting flowers instead of snow.

Is It Spring Yet?

Even though I have some Irish in me blood, my extent of celebrating St. Patrick's Day is wearing something green and cooking corn beef, potatoes, cabbage & soda bread.
Wishing you a
"Happy St. Patrick's Day"

I have not been posting on a regular basis... not sure why, perhaps the cold and dreary days of winter kept me snuggled under comforters reading and watching TV rather than accomplishing anything else.

This past Friday our temperature was 81, teasing us with the hope of Spring.  With the encouragement of Spring nearby, I shook off my comforters, worked outside in a flower garden and decorated a bit for Easter & Spring.

I filled this basket with vintage millinery & flowered hats along with an added piece of lace & a nest.

One of my favorite bunnies is my jointed bunny to the right.  I've had him for nearly 30 years.

I am ready for Spring to fully arrive.  How about you?

Things I Love Fridays is Under Repair & Robin Nest Update

Things I Love Friday:  You may have noticed  My So Called Junky Life's linky party to Things I Love Fridays is not linking correctly.  Sarah is aware of this and is working to resolve it.

Robin's Nest Update:  A couple of weeks ago I shared this photo from my kitchen window of a robing nesting on our sun porch

Sadly the mother stopped nesting a couple days ago and our overnight temperatures have been too cool for the eggs to survive.  With hope for next Spring and their song.
