semi-retired that is...
Yesterday was the final day of my 27 years in the healthcare industry.
I started
in 1979 working in Accounting and Patient Services at the wonderful downtown
St. Mary’s Hospital of Kansas City. Followed by several years as a health insurance educator to hospitals,
employers and labor unions as well as being part of the work force that brought the first Preferred Provider Organization to Kansas City. After becoming a mother, I stayed home for several years to raise our two sons. I returned to healthcare in 2001, spending
the last 14 years with HCA.
It was a bittersweet decision for me to leave corporate healthcare after so many years, but felt it was time to move on to new beginnings.
I am blessed to have this choice!
I want to continue working, but working in positions that are creative and filled with joy.
Soon I will start two new positions...working at a local consignment home decor store merchandising home furnishings vignettes (and Sales) as well as working more with someone that his very special to me that has Down's Syndrome.
I do believe both cover being creative and filled with joy!
Thank you to my family & friends, each of you, for your kind words, thoughts, prayers and gifts you have shared with me for my retirement!
I am blessed!
