Weekend Treasure Hunt

It's been awhile since I've had a good treasure picking day.
This weekend I visited a local thrift store warehouse where items are purchased by the pound.

My weekend treasure hunt

The cream end/side table was $1.00!

 fabric to re-purpose

 Christmas goodies

 Wonderful books.
I' m thinking those vintage sparkly silver shoes are crying out for a Christmas redo!

Two vintage smaller suitcases: Luce & Samsonite.  Each suitcase is full
of ephemera and other smaller treasures.
A vintage album carrying case.
Adorable infant Santa sleeper... maybe I'll use it on my Christmas tree.

French Women, sheet music, Christmas wreath (needs some help), vintage vase,
snowflake buttons, vintage pins, natural Christmas garland, Ooh La la french puzzle pieces & more.

Three hand-stitched double/queen quilts!

After our treasure hunt, Tara & I meet for lunch at California Pizza on the Country Club Plaza.

What a great day!

Thankful

When Autumn arrives, our thoughts often turn towards Thanksgiving, our bountiful blessings and why we are so thankful.  Thanksgiving is this coming Thursday.

This Thanksgiving my blessings are many.  I am grateful and thankful for what I have...
my family, friends, food, home, health, job, safekeeping...

Recently our oldest son was involved in this
and he walked away from it with minor injuries.

I am thankful.

Recently so many in the East Coast lost so much to hurricane Sandy

I have a safe home, I am so thankful.

I have the love and support of family & friends... I am so thankful!

Thanksgiving Blessings to you ~ Tami

Karla's Cottage Romantic Gothic Ghost & Good-bye Dear Friends

Laurie & Suzanne's October visit also included attending
Karla's Cottage Romantic Gothic Ghost event.  Karla offers the most amazing classes...
full of relaxed creativity mingled with her gracious hospitality!

Lee, Suzanne, Laurie & me were travel buddies for the event.
Here we are arriving & wearing the mini witch hats we created.
(click on any photo to enlarge view)

Beth taught our first class Gypsy Song & Spells felt book.
Karla taught our 2nd class Felted Raven Teacup vignette.

As you can see in the above photos, Karla has a gorgeous studio
one cannot help but be inspired.

There were lots of breaks to snuggle & cuddle Yorkie mama
Twinkle's nine pups
Laurie's arms full of joy, holding all nine pups

So cute!

Sadly the day after Romantic Gothic Ghost, Laurie &
Suzanne's visit ends.  Their last morning here

A quick farewell photo, not too bad for aiming it in mid air.
Four days of friendship memories!
 I miss you guys!

Blog Decisions

My Blogspot Google Picasa account tells me my free photo space is full (432 photos),
thus not allowing me to upload new photos.

I understand their limits; however, it is odd that some days
I can still upload photos into the body of my post (like today),
but not a new header.  Still contemplating these issues.

Please enjoy my Autumn home decor

More Blog Photo Issues

More image/photo issues tonight with my blog.

I was attempting to upload a new header design and Blogger deleted my original header and will not allow me to upload any new images/photos.

I thought I'd try loading an image/photo in this post...
and as you can see it allowed me to do so... weird.

Any suggestions??

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun - Part 2

I only have a PC, no laptop, notebook, smart phone or whatever, so I need to be home and at my PC to share any new post with you.  When it comes to tech stuff, I keep it simple...
hence my delay in recent postings.

I've been away on a wonderful Girls Rule trip.
I will be sharing about it once I get caught up on some other posts.

I had planned on catching up with posting early this weekend; however our eldest son was involved in a major car accident.  Thank our good Lord, he was not severely injured!
His car was totaled.

On with Girls Just Wanna Have Fun - Part 2...

My last post left Laurie, Suzanne & me getting ready to experience shopping at the
Kansas City West Bottoms Vintage Stores.

Laurie & Suzanne

(October: all sorts of odd items.  A vintage hair stylist
teaching mannequin with real human hair)

I really enjoyed the sunlight shinning through this window display

Visiting with friend Carol Spinski (Raised in Cotton) at her Bottoms Up booth
(Laurie, Suzanne, Carol & me)

Delighted to get a photo with friend Sarah (My So Called Junky Life)
Sarah is such a sweetie!  I ADORE her blog, her Bottoms Up booth
and her amazing and creative talents!

Bits of Sarah's Bottoms Up booth, My So Called Junky Life
(same name as her blog)
Here's a tease of her November Bottoms Up Christmas items from her blog

More of West Bottoms shopping...

I love this sofa!  It was only $115!
I absolutely have no where to put it or it would have come home with me!

 Wow! bright lemony yellow
Window view (I think from the 3rd floor of Bottoms Up)
Amazing old buildings!
The holidays are upon us... smile!

It was October, lots of eerie & odd displays

We ran into fellow Bird Song friends Marj & Gail!

Suzanne & Laurie - we had an amazing day!
Be sure and visit Laurie's post, she has lots of great photos.

The last event of their visit was Karla's Romantic Gothic Ghost.  I'll be sharing more about that soon.
