Angie's Birthday & Birdsong 2014 Peeps

Welcome back!

On my last post we had finished our Friday shopping at the Kansas City West Bottoms.

I shouldn't say we finished our shopping as it is nearly impossible

to see every store in one day.

Next the Birdsong Peeps headed to their various Lawrence, KS hotels and met up again to celebrate Angie's birthday inside her lovely vintage store My Father's Daughter

Beth provide us a Make-n-Take project of vintage empherma,

old ledger cards, trims & more...fun stuff!  Thanks Beth!

We enjoyed Angie's wonderful birthday party, had fun creating Beth's Make-n-Take, shopped for beautiful treasures while at Angie's store My Father's Daughter and had the opportunity to donate funds to benefit the Ballard Center.

Thanks to all involved for making this event a wonderful evening!

Our next morning greeted us with anticipation & excitement as Birdsong 2014 had arrived.

Old friendships and new friendships gathered in Karla's beautiful home & studio.

Lots of love, laughter & inspiration were shared

Pre-Birdsong 4 Shopping

My Birdsong 4 weekend started off with friends Suzanne & Cheryl (the Colorado girls) arriving June 5 for afternoon shopping at the Mission Road Antique Mall 

 

Shopping at Beth's booth...Beth has BEST treasures!

This booth offers designer & vintage fabric swatches.

I have drawers full of swatches from this booth!

 

After some girlfriend time shopping, eating and sharing hugs & stories, we called it a night.

A good night's sleep was needed, so we would be fully energized for Friday's shopping at the 

Kansas City's West Bottoms vintage shops.  

 

We arrived about 8:45 am to the West Bottom shops.

Our sign for the day...smile.

 Not only were we on a treasure hunt, but we were excited to run into other Birdsong Peeps!

BIRD SONG 2013

filled my heart last weekend at Bird Song - a weekend art retreat at Karla's Cottage 

This was my third year to attend and it was wonderful as always!

 Lucky me!  I won Beth's apron!

I have lots of photos to share... for now, here is a sprinkling of Peeps creating, art swaps and glimpses into Karla's studio and garden.  Inspirational!
