2015 Valentine's Day Swaps

I'm always pleased and excited to participate in JoAnne's

This Valentine's Day, I joined her altered matchbox and
snippet roll swaps.

Here is my altered matchbox
Days before I began creating this matchbox, I found a set of four vintage red sequins heart at an estate sale...
I knew I wanted to use one on my matchbox.

The vintage Mother of Pearl heart trim piece was one of many that I scored at a local antique shop.  It's creamy sheen is lovely!

This end of the matchbox offers a lovely cherub.
Do you see her beautiful wings?

The other end is a vintage image of sweethearts kissing.

All sorts of Valentine's Day treats & goodies nestled inside waiting for delivery.

This precious bag was used as gift wrap for my matchbox.  It is made from vintage linens.  A vendor at a local vintage shop makes and sells these bags.  They are too good to pass up as she offers them at incredible prices and her handwork is wonderful!

So, that is my matchbox that was sent off recently to its
new owner.
My second swap was a snippet roll.  This was my first snippet roll.
I could be hooked on them!
I used an x-large wooden spool that once housed 2" muslin ribbon to wrap the snippet around.  I applied the same vintage Cupid image to both ends, added some glimmer spray and inks.

The unveiling from top to bottom, front to back

Mon amour... My love

Snippets of different ribbons, fabrics, laces, tulle, paper, photos, textile trims, beads, Mother of Pearl, Rhinestone & flowers were used in creating these snippets of love.

Again another sweet bag for gift wrap and off to it's new owner.

I received my snippet swap and I'm waiting for my matchbox swap to arrive.
I am eager to share them with you soon!
